The Workers’ Unity League (WUL) is an organization of workers united across industry and nationality to REVIVE THE STRIKE MOVEMENT!

WUL’s founding members are workers from Middle and West TN who have experience with fighting exploitative companies and landlords.

Our members have led or supported over a dozen labor strikes. We are tired of surface-level calls for “general strikes” and sidewalk rallies outside working hours. Pulling off a real strike takes intentional effort and organization. You can’t build it on a shaky foundation.

We must regenerate the independent workers’ movement! Both Democratic and Republican parties serve the same monopolies that are making our lives miserable. Why should we keep letting them make choices for us?

It is right to strike! It is right to fight! WORKERS OF THE WORLD UNITE!

NATIONAL / INTERNATIONAL SITUATION

The world is undergoing profound change and unrest. The position of the U.S. empire in the world stage is under threat. The monopoly corporations and banks that control the U.S. are scrambling to compete for increasingly tighter markets. As a result, our economy has been trapped in cycles of overproduction, stagnation, and inflation.

Desperate to cling to power, the U.S. is increasing hostilities against Asia, Africa, and Latin America, as well as against the people of the U.S.

Our government is slashing our healthcare, education, food stamps, and rights, while funding wars of plunder for the sole benefit of U.S. monopolies. Our children are being sent to fight these wars, risking their lives to defend the same system that oppresses them at home.

While the ruling class scapegoats immigrants and refugees, the violence it inflicts in other countries is the root of the forced mass displacement of people from their homelands.

WE SURVEYED NEARLY 500 TN WORKERS ACROSS INDUSTRY AND NATIONALITY.

Workers across the nation are carrying the burden of the crisis. In TN, that’s not different. We cannot afford groceries, and are dealing with widespread unemployment, layoffs, and state terror. Meanwhile, we are paying the bills for monopolies like Oracle, XAI, the Boring Company, and Amazon, which are getting handouts from our state and local governments.

Despite that, workers are being harassed daily, unable to drive, work, pray, and live in peace.

In April, workers from all major industries in our area came together to review and ratify WUL’s collective demands.
